Seed Oil Free Certified™ – Ingredient Documentation Guide
To support the verification of your product’s compliance with Seed Oil Free Certified™ standards, we ask that you prepare documentation for any ingredients that may contain seed oils or oil-based carriers. This helps ensure transparency and allows us to assess risk appropriately.
You are not required to upload these documents during the application process. You may send them to our team via email or upload them later through the brand portal.
We may request specification sheets (spec sheets) or full ingredient breakdowns for the following ingredient categories:
- Dried fruits (e.g., cranberries, raisins, dates – may be coated in seed oils)
- Chocolates or chocolate coatings (may contain lecithins or added oils)
- Nut butters (including almond, peanut, or mixed nut spreads)
- Flavorings (natural or artificial – may use oil-based carriers)
- Spices and seasoning blends (may include anti-caking agents or oil-based additives)
- Extracts (e.g., vanilla extract, smoke flavor – may contain carrier oils)
- Probiotic powders (can contain oil-based carriers)
- Vitamin premixes or blends (fat-soluble vitamins may be delivered in oil)
- Plant-based proteins (pea, rice, soy – may be spray-dried with emulsifiers)
- Shelf-stable prepared ingredients (e.g., roasted vegetables, jarred ingredients)
- Any functional ingredient blends from contract manufacturers or co-packers
Thank you for your attention to these details. If any ingredient listed above is used, please be prepared to submit a specification sheet or confirm the absence of seed oils or disallowed carrier oils.
